As an artist, my work often takes many different forms. Though I may begin by exploring a topic photographically, I use many different mediums; such as sculpture, installation, sound and textual work. I tend to begin with a subject matter and theme, then find the form through the subject. I draw on ideas around the human condition and bring in questions of genuinity, instinct and societal norms. Even natural behaviours seem like an algorithm in our lives. I unpack our everyday movements to see what makes us all want to behave in similar ways, like a hive. In a time of immense change in digital technology, the human condition is taking a major shift. I like to explore these topics in a somewhat playful way, sometimes using humour alongside something that may have more cynical connotations. I am interested in how viewers may interpret my work and am open to whatever theories people want to imagine from it.
