"Royalty Free" November 2025 ("Freeze") Govan Project Space

This alphabetical list shows descriptions of images representing 'gossip' on Getty images. The descriptions vary from simple physical charcteristics to narrative. Grouping them alphabetically revealed the common stereotypes associated with gossip

"Two women whispering secrets" October 2025 LAB Gallery

Gossip is something so prevalent in our society, yet it is so often dismissed as idle conversation. I am interested in the crucial role gossip has, how it affects our psyche, relationships and how we have evolved. Historically gossiping was seen as sinful and would sometimes be punishable with torture.Though the punishments aren’t so extreme now, it is still described mostly as a negative activity. For this work I have done a simple search on getty images for ‘gossip’. The investigation examines how gossip is symbolised both now and historically. This is part of an ongoing project on the topic of gossip. I tend to begin with a subject matter and theme, then find the form through that. I draw on ideas around the human condition and bring in questions of genuinity, instinct and societal norms. The world is constantly morphing into a place we can’t even recognise or pinpoint. I am interested in how overloaded we are with information in the digital age. I like to explore these topics in a somewhat playful way, sometimes using humour alongside something that may have more cynical connotations

"Brian Did Not Complete" March 2025 ("Immmersion") Govan Project Space

I created a large map of an office based off real designs, the map has overlaps and various different scales making it unusable in real life I was interested by how offices are designed to create the most productivity out of the workers

"Simphony" April 2025 GSA Stow Building

A collaborative project with Ellie Mcleod. We have both played sims since we were young and decided it was time to bring it out of our laptops. I used my sim to create paintings. She reached level 10 which meant she could create 'Masterpieces' I would have her paint from reference which involved me composing the photo and then she would do an impressionist painting of the scene. As well as this we showed some lifesized Townies(NPCs) from the game. We also showed two short films.

"A Herd, A Gaggle, A Pack, A Swarm, A Flock" April 2024 GSA Stow Building

This piece originated from images taken on Buchanan street in Glasgow. (The last set of posts on my profile) I began to wonder why there is a desire to flock there on a Saturday. It reminds me that we are animals, we group together like bird murmurations, follow eachother around like sheep and gather together like animals do around a watering hole.

"Plaster On a Smile" June 2023 Brighton MET College

It is said that these fossilised smiles come from beings that lived here before us. The expression was used as a sign of pleasure or to mask negative feelings. The fossils are said to date back to period just before they were wiped out entirely. Research is still being done to pinpoint what exactly wiped them out. When we arrived to the planet we were left with their remains, most of which are pointless to us. These 'Smiles' however are an incredible discovery which will help us figure out how these animals' brains worked. What triggered this so called 'happiness' they wrote about in their diaries? and how can we learn from them?”
